Chief Executive Officer

Clay Richards

Clay Richards serves as naviHealth’s Chief Executive Officer responsible for the strategic vision and leadership of the organization. Clay joined naviHealth upon its founding in January 2012. Prior to joining naviHealth, Clay served as Senior Vice President at Healthways, Inc., where he was responsible for the leadership and growth of the company’s Health Plan Market, including delivery of services to over 60 health plans. While at Healthways, he also served as the company’s General Counsel.

Chief Operating Officer

Carter Paine

Carter Paine serves as naviHealth’s Chief Operating Officer responsible for overseeing all centralized and market-based operations as well as naviHealth’s clinical operations and design. Carter joined naviHealth upon its founding in 2012. He has over a decade of operating, investing and transactional experience, all focused on healthcare services and IT. Prior to joining naviHealth, Carter served as a Vice President at Health Evolution Partners, and as an Associate at Jefferies & Co.

Chief Financial Officer

Tony Hughes

Tony Hughes serves as naviHealth’s Chief Financial Officer overseeing all corporate-wide accounting, financial planning and analysis, performance analytics and corporate development activities. Previously, Tony was Senior Vice President leading naviHealth’s strategy and development activities and has been with the organization since 2013. Prior to joining, Tony specialized in managed care mergers and acquisitions and most recently was Director of Corporate Development at WellCare Health Plans and prior to that as Director of Corporate Development and Investor Relations for HealthSpring, Inc.

Chief Compliance Officer & Chief People Officer

Carla Wallace

Carla Wallace serves as naviHealth’s Chief Compliance Officer & Chief People Officer overseeing all corporate-wide compliance initiatives as well as leading all human capital functions. Her primary responsibilities include architecting the enterprise compliance and human capital strategies, structures, policies and processes. Prior to joining naviHealth, Carla served as Principal and Compliance Consulting Practice Leader at Quorum Health Resources. Prior to Quorum, Carla served as the Chief Compliance Officer and Ancillary Services Administrator for an acute care facility in Kentucky and as Compliance Officer for a multi-physician practice in Kentucky.

Chief Clinical Officer

Heather O’Sullivan

Heather O’Sullivan serves as naviHealth’s Chief Clinical Officer overseeing the organization’s centralized clinical design and operations. Heather’s experience spans nearly two decades in clinical, operational and leadership roles serving hospitals and health systems, health plans and home healthcare environments. As a nurse practitioner, she has deep clinical expertise across the care continuum from admission to discharge, as well as alternate sites of care. Prior to joining naviHealth, she was Vice President of Clinical Operations for Cardinal Health and worked with clinical leaders of large health systems to analyze their clinical protocols and identify areas with the highest levels of variability. In addition, Heather has also held positions Univita and UnitedHealth Group.

Chief Information Officer

Patrick Funck

Patrick Funck serves as naviHealth’s Chief Information Officer responsible for leading all technology strategies and initiatives for the organization. Patrick has over 25 years of experience deploying new technology to global insurance carriers, the largest third party administrators, managed care organizations, and health care systems. Prior to joining naviHealth, Patrick served as the CIO at Accretive Health where his team provided technology solutions to health systems, hospitals, and physician groups.

Chief Medical Officer

Ken Botsford

Ken Botsford serves as naviHealth’s Chief Medical Officer. Ken has over 23 years of experience in internal medicine and infectious diseases and has served in numerous consulting and Medical Director roles, as well as Chief of Staff for a hospital. Prior to joining naviHealth, Ken served as the Chief Medical Officer at HealthSpring, Inc. for Alabama, southern Mississippi, and northern Florida. In additional, he also co-founded an independent practice association (IPA) and an electronic medical records company.

SVP and President, Provider Solutions

Harrison Frist

Harrison Frist serves as Senior Vice President & President of naviHealth’s Provider Solutions group where he is responsible for the operations and strategic direction of the health system, post-acute and software business. Harrison joined the company in 2012. Prior to joining naviHealth, Harrison worked in Qingdao, China for Chinaco Healthcare Corporation (CHC), an international hospital operator. Previously, Harrison worked for The Carlyle Group and Goldman, Sachs & Co. Harrison lives in Nashville, TN with his wife, Ashley, and three children.

Mark Jansen

Mark Jansen serves as naviHealth’s Senior Vice President of Operations responsible for the company’s National Accounts.  Mark joined the company in 2014.  Prior to joining naviHealth, Mark worked for Corizon, a correctional healthcare company, serving as Vice President of Operations, as well as, Chief of Staff and Vice President of Client Satisfaction.  Mark has held numerous operational leadership roles in healthcare throughout his career.  Mark lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Rachel and four children

Chief Growth Officer

Greg Baumer

Greg Baumer serves as Chief Growth Officer responsible for partnerships with health plans, health systems, and physician groups, as well as corporate strategy.  Greg joined the company in 2014.  Prior to joining naviHealth Greg worked as an investment professional for the Boston-based private equity firm Advent International, where he focused on investments in the healthcare space.  Previously, Greg worked for consulting firm McKinsey & Company in Chicago.  Greg lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Alison and two children.

Vice President, Marketing

Stephanie Kohn

Stephanie’s expertise is in building brands and, ultimately, customer loyalty. Her mission is to ensure that every customer touchpoint relays a consistent message, true to the company or product’s unique positioning. She has an appetite for solving problems across industries affected by disruption—from healthcare and travel, to media and financial services; and a track record of reinventing the status quo to bring a vision to market in a scrappy way with optimal results.

Prior to joining Navihealth, Stephanie was Marketing Director at athenahealth, a healthcare IT organization. Her team focused on driving quality leads and meetings for the Small Group (1-6 doctor practices) sales team after initial success in turning around subscriber revenue and the pharma media business for the medical reference app, Epocrates. In striving to achieve aggressive 30% YOY growth goals in a market with strong headwinds, she pushed to dramatically alter widely-accepted existing processes that enabled the business to more effectively reach providers.

Stephanie honed her ability to push for tough marketing decisions in a product-focused environment during her four years at SmarterTravel, a division of TripAdvisor responsible for building out ecommerce and media sites. She oversaw brand, acquisition, PR, and real-time marketing efforts, with a specific focus on storytelling and developing brand ambassadors across all SmarterTravel sites. During her tenure, she launched two hot online travel brands: SniqueAway, a private sale travel site (later folded into Jetsetter.com), and Tingo, a hotel booking site that automatically gives you money back if the price drops.

Prior to TripAdvisor, Stephanie was Director of Brand & Loyalty Marketing at The Boston Globe/Boston.com where she was able to prove that relevant loyalty programs increased subscriber retention by 30%. She also was responsible for launching various new print and online products, including BoMoms, DoGood and G.

Stephanie can credit her appreciation of a solid process and framework to her eight years at Hill Holliday, an advertising agency. Stephanie worked in Account Management overseeing brand development for a variety of financial, healthcare and professional services industries including Fleet, Putnam Investments and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Stephanie has a BA in French from Boston College, and an MBA from Boston University. With the original intention of becoming a veterinarian, she also completed all of her pre-medical requirements. She lives in Boston with her husband, two sons, and their Labradoodle. In her free time, she travels with her family, spins with her friends, has committed to doing 365 workouts in 365 days, and escapes through books.

Vice President, Product

Emily Tyson

As the Vice President of Product, Emily is responsible for the vision and direction of naviHealth’s product offerings. She leads the company product strategy and focus, working hand in hand with the business and engineering teams. Previously, Emily served as the Director of Emerging Markets at Curaspan, a healthIT company acquired by naviHealth. Emily led Curaspan’s efforts in extending their care coordination offerings in new markets as they grew their engaged provider network. Driven by a desire to connect and improve healthcare, Emily joined Curaspan from athenahealth, where she held responsibility for defining visions for new and existing service offerings, including creating and executing go-to-market and partnership strategies. She also led M&A transactions and integration initiatives for the company. Emily joined the healthcare IT industry after serving in various leadership roles in the financial services industry in New York and Hong Kong. Emily holds a B.S. in Business Administration, summa cum laude, from Washington and Lee University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
